The official relocation was completed at the end of October 2015, a four phase move of around 400 employees per phase (1675 total). They moved from Morris Township to Morris Plains, a controversial relocation for many of the former town’s residents.
Honeywell and the Morris Township Board held over 50 meetings in the last two years to address Honeywell’s proposed rezoning plans. To receive $40 million in tax credits from the NJ Economic Development Authority, they wanted to redevelop their 147 acre site into residential and commercial construction. Due to the constant delays and lawsuit threats, they ended up moving to Morris Plains where they are now working with 475,000 sq ft.
J. D Carton & Son helped them complete their contents and computer moving, which included 15 large file rooms and common areas spread out over 3 floors. Several labs were also packed, moved and unpacked along with the CTC data center. Forty map / blue print files were moved along with many truck loads of selected furniture pieces.
