On June 14th, John Carton received an award from The Diocese of Paterson. Bishop Serratelli presented Mr. Carton with the Vivere Christus award at Saint Philip the Apostle in Clifton, NJ. This distinction is administered to parishioners to express gratitude and appreciation towards those who help others. One member of each parish in the Paterson Diocese is selected for this award. John received it on behalf of J. D. Carton & Son for helping with deliveries to 4 different food banks in the area.
They include:
· Father English Center – Paterson, NJ 07501
· Catholic Services – Paterson, NJ 07501
· Partnership for Social Services Family Center – Franklin, NJ 07416
· Hope House – Dover, NJ 07801
Every week, the parishioners of Corpus Christi in Chatham, NJ 07928, have donated a tremendous amount of food, a tradition which began in October 2008. Since then, our team has arranged over 346 weeks of delivery service totaling around 181,000 pounds of food moved and transported. The J. D. Carton team includes Fred Milano, Andre Cooper, Anthony Mirra, Ray Withers, Bertram Cummings, and Collington Hall.
We are happy to assist the community by making food donations accessible through our deliveries. These donations would not be possible without the caring hearts of such generous people at Corpus Christi and J. D Carton and Son. Together, we are glad to be making a difference in fighting hunger and poverty in New Jersey.
